People
We cannot save homeless pets without people andcannot save them without you. Our goal is to work with the communities in our alliance to provide the best care for pets, and that often means helping the people that love them.
Pets
Colorado has more adopters than pets entering our shelter system. You’re surprised, right? Well, it’s true. We can save every healthy and treatable homeless pet in the state. That’s a fact. And that’s what we have set out to do.
Raise the Bar
Animal Sheltering has changed dramatically in the past decade. While deaths of animals have decreased, we are still responsible for the deaths of thousands of healthy and treatable pets in our shelter system each year. SARA aims to change that.
Divisions
We are working on setting up groups of people interested in the following divisions. We need both leaders and volunteers to join SARA and begin creating the programs and services to make Colorado the safest state for homeless pets.

Advocacy - advocate on behalf of our mission to potential new member organizations. Goal: to form relationships with and develop understanding of key decision makers of existing and potential coalition members with the goal of growing membership base.
Partnerships - develop partnership opportunities between coalition members. Transfer partners, etc.
Messaging of the Alliance to coalition members, potential coalition members, opposition groups, and the general public.
FInance/Fundraising - financially support member organizations and their lifesaving programs.
Legal/legislative
Monitor pending legislation and any newly proposed legislation by “other” business models.
Lobby, propose new legislation and/or amendments to existing legislation that furthers our mission.
