Jingles

Handsome Jingles came back to MaxFund after 8 years in a family home. Suddenly his owners were moving, and Jingles would not be going with them. When he arrived back at the shelter, we were surprised to see how much Jingles had changed. Rather than the social, happy cat we remembered him being, Jingles now displayed behavior issues - he did not want to be touched or held and seemingly did not like people at all. In working with Jingles, we soon discovered that Jingles is very much different with men versus women. It turns out he prefers male human company. Happily, after a year spent working with him on his social skills, Jingles seemed to form an understanding with a man looking for a single, new cat. And it just so happens that this gentleman preferred to adopt an animal that had been at the shelter for a while - a cat that needed someone to see him - Jingles - as special above all others. We were so excited for Jingles to have found a new, loving home. In much the same way some people become particular about the company they keep, Jingles simply needed his caregivers to see him as an individual with particular likes and dislikes, and to work toward finding him a specific kind of forever home that could meet his individual needs.
